Purple with a French Crackle

This started out to be a really pretty mani, but I'm not sure about the end result...

I started out with 2 coats of Avon's Loving Lavender (this is fast becoming my favorite go-to purple polish) It is such a nice smooth creamy purple!  I then added 2 coats of Pure Ice - Busted.  It looks kind of like a holo in the bottle, but it goes on more of a fine shimmer.  I still like it. :)  I then added NYC Starry Silver Glitter to the ring finger.  This turned out so pretty!  I should have stopped there.

But I didn't... I taped them off and added some white crackle to the tips.

Let me know what you think!

A Little Touch of Spring!

It has turned so pretty outside and everything is green and gorgeous!  I would be completely happy with this temperature all year long! 75 is perfect!

So here is my spring mani :)

I used mostly Avon's colors because they compliment each other so well
Aqua Fantasy (on my thumb and tip of the ring finger)
Sweet Mint (kind of a lime green)
Cotton Candy
Loving Lavender
The yellow I used was a little no name I have had forever

After I painted each nail a different color, I taped off the tips and added the same colors in a different order.

I wasn't thinking when I took the picture so I don't have a picture of my thumb nail. Sorry.  It is painted with Aqua Fantasy and tipped with Sweet Mint!

Easter!

Here is a nice pretty spring/Easter mani. I started out with Avon's new Blue Escape. This is a really nice bright blue polish. 2 coats covered nicely. I taped off my tips and added Avon aqua fantasy to all but my ring finger which I taped off on a zig zag pattern to start with. While this was drying I added two different color dot daisys with acrylic paint to all bit the ring finger. I finished off the egg by taping off and adding Avon cotton candy and then a light no name yellow I have had forever. Last, I added dots and lines in white :)

I will try to post one more before Sunday, but if i don't, Happy Easter!

Girl on Fire!

Here is my second try at a Hunger Games manicure! I still haven't gotten to see the movie yet :(
Did everyone like it, was it everything you wanted it to be?  I honestly haven't heard much about it.

I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze Smoke & Ashes from their Hunger Games collection.  I can't tell you how much I love this polish, I used it on my last mani here.  It is a beautiful polish that has fun blue and green sparkles in it.  Went on very nice and dried pretty fast.  The picture just doesn't do it justice.

Then I added some flames with China Glaze Lighthouse and then overlaid it with Orly Crawford's Wine, which is a nice shimmery red.  Then I overlaid that with more Lighthouse flames.

I like this one a whole lot!  Tell me what you think!

Hunger Games Mani #1 = FAIL

This one is a fail in my book... :( I had this wonderful subtle idea for a Hunger Games mani and this is what I ended up with.

I do on the other had love the french that I started out with.  I did 2 layers of China Glaze Fast Track from the Hunger Games collection.  This is a beauty! It went on nice and dried pretty fast.  It looks so soft and nice then BAM! In the sun you get these gorgeous gold sparkles.  Then I added (from the Hunger Games collection) China Glaze Smoke and Ashes!  I have read lots of mixed reviews about this polish, I was even told by the girl I was buying it from at Sallys not to buy it.  I am so glad I didn't listen!  I love this polish and will do some swatches of it so you can see just how gorgeous this girl is :)
Smoke and Ashes went on so so smooth and I got away with doing 1 coat on the tips!  It has these beautiful blue and black sparkles in it, smaller than glitter but SPARKLY!  I am in love with this polish!

(This is my right hand and it was not wanting to be photographed!)

This is the beginning of the end for this mani :(  I added some circular lines to look similar to the first book cover but that isn't what I got.  Oh, well!  Live and learn :)

I will be trying more Hunger Games manis because I didn't get to see the movie yet.  I guess I will keep trying till I find one I like.

Let me know what you think of the new Hunger Games Collection from China Glaze.  I bought a few more from the collection and I will post on them soon.

Pink & Brown Water Marble

I had never tried doing a water marble manicure!  Strange, but it had never interested me.  So, for the sake of trying something new I decided to do one.
I put one coat of Avon Cotton Candy and then did the marble with white, Cotton Candy and Avon Vintage Boutique (a really nice creamy brown that looks so good by itself)

I love these colors together!  I realized I really do like this manicure

Not too bad for my first try if I do say so myself :)  Let me know what you think! And let me know if you have any questions!

Wearing of the Green Nails!

I was loving the purple on my nails but I decided I needed to do something green and fun for St. Patrick's Day!

I ended up having soooo many coats of polish its not even funny!  I am still trying to cover up the pink tips while they grow out so I started with 2 coats of white polish.  It didn't even cover all the pink and even left some streaks (it could be my cheap white)  So I added another coat of white :)
I have this cute green I got a couple weeks ago, so I started with 2 coats of Pure Ice - Rescue Me.  Was starting to look like I wanted it to so just for fun, I added another coat!  I really like this polish, it has the neon green base and it has little flecks of green/blue glitter in the right light.  You can kind of see it in the picture.

Next I sponged some OPI - Fresh Frog of Belair it has small green glitter and large silver glitter.  I topped it all off with top coat.

I found out by accident that Rescue Me glows in the dark!!!

I really like how this turned out.

Purple French with Flowers

I needed me some purple! I started off with 2 coats of Avon's new Loving Lavender.  I fell in love! It is a light purple cream polish. This went on so smooth and so nice.  It is a light purple cream polish.  So... I stopped there :) I couldn't put anything else on this beautiful color!  This photo is most accurate for the color.

2 days later... :)

I added OPI - You Ottaware Purple to the tips.  This lovely lady is a nice shimmery dark purple that goes on nice.  This is 2 coats because it is pretty transparent.  I had planned on adding more colors to this but it was so pretty I couldn't mess it up.

After I did the french tip I remembered I had some 3D art flowers and they match perfect!

I just love this mani! But it might just be because it is purple :)  Let me know what you think!

Park Ave & Spanish Moss

It has been a long day so lets get straight to the polish! :)  For the base I used In A New York Color Minute - Park Ave.  This is a really pretty creamy dark mauve/purple (The picture doesn't do it justice)  I had to apply 3 coat to cover but it is a quick dry polish and really did dry fast.  And it did go on really smooth!

I didn't use any top coat after Park Ave since it dried so fast.  I just taped it off (thank you so much Chloe's nails for this little gem, I had never thought of scotch tape before.  I had always just done all of my work freehand)

This is a beautiful green that I added on the ends!  It is Revlon - Spanish Moss.  It looks like a cream polish at first but it has this gorgeous subtle shimmer in it!  I was tempted to remove the Park Ave and do just the Spanish moss! Now if I am talking about removing any kind of purple that is really saying something!

These were both really hard colors to capture with the camera, but I highly recommend them both.

I do believe I will use this green again before the month is out!

Fun Pink on Pink with Dots

Dots again!!! I must have a thing for dots lately, but they needed to be on this one too :)

I still have my pink tips so I am wanted something to compliment that.  (I will really be happy when they are grown out)

My nails were due for a fill so I broke down and filled them.  I needed to show you how pretty and shiny they are pre-polish!

Here is the Avon Cotton Candy I added below the hot pink tips

Then to add a little something I added white dots with acrylic paint along the smile line

I haven't decided if I like it with or without the dots better... Tell me what you think

Some that I ordered were on backorder so I will post those as soon as I get them.

Suzi Says Feng Shui

Here is a really pretty blue by OPI called Suzi Says Feng Shui.  I applied 2 coats.  I put silver dots from big to small then added black to the side of it going the other direction.

I had a bad time getting the color of this polish to show with the camera. This is pretty close.  Hope you enjoy!

A little Black Shatter

I am not a huge fan of crackle polish but had an idea I wanted to try.  Its not what I wanted and I honestly don't know if I like it or not.  I don't think I will keep this on very long.

It is still my pink tips from before and I added a white stripe and OPI Black Shatter.

Let me know what you think and what you might have tried instead.

Picked up some new pretties

While I was at the store I needed a polish fix so I picked up 4 new colors.
Its been so long since I bought polish anywhere besides a beauty store that I had no idea you could still buy polish for $.97 - $3.98!!! I was pretty excited.

From left to right - Revlon Colorstay - Spanish Moss, NYC In New York Color Minute - Park Ave, NYC Long Wearing - French White, Pure Ice - Rescue Me

I have no clue how these girls will hold up but I will let you know when I do.

First Post, Yay!!

I recently started following a few nail blogs and decided this is something I would really enjoy doing.  so here we go!!  I have been in love with polish for as long as I can remember.  I am a licensed nail tech so sometimes I have natural nails and sometimes they are tipped and sometimes they are gel or acrylic overlays.  Right now my nails are overlayed with hot pink tips.

I would like to give a special thanks to The Polished Perfectionist and Chloe's Nails, also to Glam Polish.  You ladies have truly inspired me.

I probably wont post everyday because I just don't change my polish everyday. :)  But I will try to post as often as I can.

My pink tips have grown out quite a bit and I'm just not ready to give them up yet so I added some simple dot daisies with acrylic paint along the smile line and added 1 coat of Nicole by OPI - Dream Catcher then top coat! Turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself!

Let me know what you think, should I have done colored daisies instead of white?

I hope you enjoy this blog and all the polish and art I have to share.
